We are writing to invite you to become a supporter of the annual Koloa Plantation Days festival. We will celebrate the 40th annual festival, which celebrates Koloa as the site of the first commercially operated sugar mill in the state, from July 18 – July 27, 2025.
This year’s theme is “Holomua – Riding the Waves of Change” and our parade grand marshal is Marty Kuala.
We continue to work on our book celebrating 40 years of the Koloa Plantation Days Festival to fruition. This has been a long labor of love inspired by the late Phyllis Kunimura and our mission to celebrate and commemorate the history of sugar in Koloa.
“Koloa Plantation Days: A Talk Story” features stories and pictures of plantation life, local families, and Kauai history from our community. The book is now at the publishing house in final layout and we look forward to sharing a publication date soon.
Koloa Plantation Days continues to be recognized as a major festival for the island of Kauai, but this year there are many needs and we are working to raise the funds to bring more of our favorite traditions back. The festival would not be possible without the participation of many different local businesses, resorts, community organizations, churches and families who come together to support each year.
We invite you to please consider supporting the festival this year or joining our event if you have never participated.
Above please find some of the different ways to join in and support the 2025 event.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any questions.
