It’s lights, camera, history at The Shops at Kukui‘ula on Monday, July 23rd as the center hosts the 2018 Koloa Plantation Days Historic Film Night and Exhibit. The Plantation Style architecture of The Shops at Kukui`ula offers a beautiful place to immerse yourself in island history and culture, “talk story” with old friends, and make new ones. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy dinner and a movie on Kauai’s sunny south shore under the stars.

The historic Koloa Plantation Days sugar exhibit opens at 6 p.m. followed by a historic documentary shown on the big screen, under the stars at Palm Court outside of Merriman’s starting at 7:45 pm.

The historic sugar exhibit features portraits of plantation life by photographers Tim DeLaVega and Carol Ann Davis, along with a century of archival images from the plantation era courtesy of Grove Farm Homestead Museum. The exhibit also includes artifacts from plantation camp life, provided by the Grove Farm Homestead Museum and local families. The exhibit will be open from 5pm to 9pm through Friday, July 28.

Then enjoy a documentary about the sugar era in the center Palm Court at sunset. Exhibit open daily, 5:00-9:00 p.m. until Friday in suite A103, courtesy of Latitudes Fine Art Gallery.

A variety of delicious dining choices are available including Merriman''s Fish House and Merriman’s Gourmet Pizza & Burgers downstairs, The Lanai Restaurant & Bar, Tortilla Republic Grill and TR Margarita Bar, Dolphin Restaurant & Sushi Lounge, Living Foods Market & Café, Lappert’s Hawaii, Uncle''s Shave Ice, Savage Shrimp, and Bubba Burgers.

The Shops at Kukui‘ula is adjacent to the western bypass road in Po‘ipu at the roundabout. For more information visit TheShopsAtKukuiula.com, “like” The Shops at Kukui`ula on Facebook, follow @ShopsAtKukuiula on Twitter, or call (808) 742-9545.
