Food from Our Plantation Heritage
Free Tasting of Local Dishes Come and celebrate our plantation heritage and Espy’s “Sweet Memories” of life on the plantation. For the 17th straight year Espy Garcia from Hawaii’s Plantation Village will share her cooking talent and stories of growing up on a plantation. You will be able to taste dishes with unique local flavoring that reflect the blending of the foods from the various ethnic groups who worked on the plantation. Over the years both visitors and residents have enjoyed Espy’s home cooking flavored with her warm personality. Everyone has become a part of her extended family. Many have returned each year to try new dishes and renew friendships. Join her fans. Come and sample some of the food that is part of the local life style. It’s like being invited to eat with a local family. The free tasting is sponsored by Old Koloa Town Merchants and Devland Management. Come and Kiss the Cook and enjoy a taste of Old Hawaii.
